Scenic Wyoming County is situated along the northern extent of the Allegheny Plateau, bounded on the northwest and north by the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario lakeplains and the Genesee River Valley and it’s spectacular Letchworth Gorge to the east and southeast. The County’s landform is typified by glacially fo rmed north-south tending valleys, steep ridges and rolling highlands. The combination of fertile valleys, upland farmland and generally high quality soils (207,900 acres of land in farms) contribute greatly to Wyoming County Agribusiness. Wyoming County is the number one milk producing county in New York State (20th nationally) producing over 1.02 billion pounds per year. The County’s woodlots, fields and streams teem with fish and wildlife. Wyoming County’s natural bounty provides ample opportunity for outdoor pursuits such as: hiking, hunting, fishing, sightseeing, photography, skiing, snowmobiling and much more.
