Staff Duties

Department Director:

Oversees department, Secretary to County Planning Board and Water Resources Council, staff to Planning and Research Committee, develops Departmental Work Program and conducts and supervises all projects and activities of the Department


Associate Planner:

Functions as Deputy to Director and provides high level project management on topics similar to senior planners. Specializes in SEQR and technical project legal issues.


GIS Coordinator:

In addition to performing general planning functions described for a Senior Planner, manages all GIS equipment, data and projects for the County. Conducts projects for data development, system management, application development, including acquisition of aerial photographic data.


Senior Planners:

Develop and implement various County planning projects; including, grants administration, Ag. District renewal, hazard mitigation planning, capital project management, local government technical assistance, citizen planner training, transportation planning, open space planning, watershed planning, community development, space planning etc.


Planner:

Provides support to other planners in the conduct of planning projects. Provides core staff support to the County Planning Board.


Aquatic Vegetation Coordinator/Code Officer:

Provides management of all aspects of the County Aquatic Vegetation Harvesting Program. Serves as County Code Enforcement Officer. Provides primary support for watershed inspection and planning activities, including as Secretary (delegated by Director) or the Water Resource Council.


Senior Planning Technician:

Provides support to GIS Coordinator and other staff for production of maps and other graphic materials. Assists the public and other agencies in obtaining mapping and aerial photographic media and data.
